There were 38,000 entrants for the 100th anniversary running of the Boston Marathon under sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 50s F. The men's winner was Moses Tanui from Kenya in 2:09:15 and the women's winner was Uta Pippig from Germany in 2:27:12.
