With some 140 five-runner relay teams and hundreds of entrants signed up for shorter distances, the marathoners in the 12 year old Toronto Police Games Marathon were a distinct minority. This was the last year for what was then the oldest continuous marathon in the country.
Marathon veteran Bob Moore of Toronto fought the wind to a 2:31:08 victory.
Patrick Smith of Sault Ste Marie, age 26, finished in 4:39:38.
