There were 1,215 finishers in the 5K.

Two world age-group records were set at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Ed Whitlock, 72, of Canada became the first runner over 70 to break three hours (2:59:09) and Fauja Singh, 92, of Britain set a 90-95 best of 5:40:33. Joseph Nderitu of Kenya won the men's race in 2:17:50. Lyubov Morgunova of Russia took the women's title in 2:36:19.
