Malaski wins Billy Mills 5K

SAULT STE. MARIE - With the 2007 Billy Mills Fun Run in the books, Dave Emsberger of Harbor Springs finished as the winner of the men's 10K run after posting a time of 32:05.4. In the men's 5K, Rudyard's Brent Malaski was the top finisher, completing the run in 15:40.8.

In the Tot Trot five-year-old, Asrar Haider of the Sault took first place.

In the overall division eight-year-old Sydney Rechner of the Sault captured first place with a time of 9.06.1 in the Youth Mile. Eight-year-old Connor Boyer of the Sault finished first in her division for those under the age of 8 with a time of 9:44, while Joselynn Payment of the Sault took top honors in the 8 & 9 year-old Division at 9:41.6.

Eleven-year-old, Chris Hazen of the Sault posted the best overall time in the Youth Division with a time of 7:58.4. In the eight and under category Thomas martin of the Sault finished first at 8:45.

In the 5K Walk, Carolyn Martin of the Sault was the overall winner finishing first at 42:47.1; Karen Alexander of the Sault captured the Overall Female Masters Division at 46:20. Sharon Hovie of the Sault took top honors in the 40-49 Division at 48.08.4.

In the men's event, Jim Barry of Rudyard posted the best time in the 5K Walk with 45:34.7.

In the 5K Run, Alex perry of Sault Ste. Marie posted the best time completing the event in 23.20.4. Ellen Forestell of Sault, Ont. won in the women's division with a time of 24.32.2.

Kimberly Jodoin of the Sault posted the best time for women under the age of 12 at 33:20; while Jenna Paquette of the Sault captured the 13-15 Division at 23.43.3. Jocelyn Sawasky of the Sault captured the 20-29 Division crossing the finish line at 24:48.8. Lisa Neubert of the Sault finished at 26:44.4 in the 30-39 Division and Delores Kivi of the Sault won in the 40-49 Division at 33:15.5.

Nathan Wright of the Sault was the Overall Masters Winner with a time of 20:57. Eleven-year-old Blake Kanikovsky of the Sault was the fastest runner under the age of 12 with 22:08.1. In the 13-15 Division Brandon Ekhart posted the best time at 23:31.7.

Blaise Henning too the 16-19 Division in the 5K Run at 15.51.4. Ben Miller of the Sault captured the 20-29 Division at 20:43. Rick Rutledge of Sault, Ont. posted the best time in the 30-39 Division. Scott Sliger of the Sault coasted to a first place finish in the 40-49 Division posting a time of 24:34.4. Dale Johnson of the Sault won the 50-59 Division at 25:31.8, while Jake Stockten of Vestsgof captured the 60 & Over Division with a time of 25.36.

In the 10K Women's Run, Danna Sanderson of the Sault posted the best time at 55:05.

The Overall Master's Winner was Gary Barrett of McMillan at 40:17.6.

Tyler Goetz of the Sault captured the 13-15 Division posting a time of 46:04.6. In the 16-19 Division, John Harvey of Sault, Ont. recorded the best time at 36:31.5.

Curt Van of the Sault was the 20-29 Division winner with a time of 36:10.8, while Dan Wallis of the Sault captured the 30-39 Division at 40:32. Terry Sanderson of the Sault won the 40-49 Division with a time of 46:35.7.
